Dear Readers,
As we hear from our readers, meet with them, and listen to what they believe about the work they’re doing, it’s obvious how engaged they are. Dental assistants care. They care about their patients’ health, all aspects of it. They’re enthusiastic about their team and supportive of their colleagues. They look for opportunities to advance their profession. They work hard at their continuing education, their daily practices, and their lives.

The Dental Assistant of the Year award, sponsored by Colgate Oral Pharmaceuticals, gives us the opportunity to acknowledge their commitment. The narratives that accompany these nominations are often inspiring, and paint a picture of ongoing dedication and professionalism.

The next nomination cycle for Dental Assistant of the Year begins this month. The prize is awarded to a dental assistant showing dedication to continuing education and improvement to the profession. Please take this unique opportunity to highlight the efforts of one of your friends or a colleague. The nomination process is simple and can be completed at http://www.insidedentalassisting.com.

While you’re visiting our website, please take a moment to browse through our online offerings. You’ll find industry news and contacts, an online store, event calendars, and other professional resources. In addition, an archive of Inside Dental Assisting content is available, including all continuing education articles.

In our current issue, the focus is on the phenomenon of color in dentistry. The continuing education article “Color in Dentistry: Is Everything We Know Really So?” explores color science principles and properties of dental materials to help achieve optimum color-matching results. Our applied technologies article, “The Undetectable Single Maxillary Center,” provides readers with the information necessary to achieve esthetic success through more accurate shade matching.

We hope you enjoy this month’s issue. Thank you for your continuing support, your suggestions, and your enthusiasm for Inside Dental Assisting. You can contact us by logging in at http://www.insidedentalassisting.com. We look forward to hearing from you.

Warm regards,

The Publisher of Inside Dental Assisting
