Prevention of Oral Disease
All aspects of prevention are considered: diet, flourides, oral cleanliness, fissure sealants, oral health promotion and education, and the book provides an in-depth understanding of the early carious lesion and how to prevent it from progressing. The prevention of periodontal disease is discussed and two new chapters deal with the prevention of oral mucosal disease (including oral cancer) and the prevention of trauma to teeth. The implication of the changing pattern of dental disease, and the impact on resources and treatment need, are reviewed. Throughout the book, Professor Murray emphasizes the scientific evidence on which the Prevention of Oral Disease is based. This approach provides the reader with a complete understanding of the issues and techniques involved.

Edited by John J. Murray, June H. Nunn, and James G. Steele
